The Maxi 95, nicknamed the 'Swedish Tardis', it's easy to see why these yachts were chosen by (my favourite) Mediterranean charter company for their flotilla lead boat crews. Spacious for her length, almost flush decked (great for partying!), sensible accommodation for three and six at a squeeze and with a good turn of speed under motor or sail they come very close to being the perfect yacht for cruising, yet a capable performer in club races. The design may be considered by some to be a tad dated, but the quality of design and build is still very relevant today and in a sea state or blow I'd rather the Maxi 95 under me than some more sleek lightweight. A great yacht that could even be a live aboard for a spell in the sun!
