'Oysterman' was built to order during 1981/82, by Fishguard Marine. Following construction, she was sailed to Malta where she lived for 10 years. She was then bought by a merchant seaman-engineer and returned to the UK. The West Country become home for the next thirty years, exploring during the summer and undergoing consistent improvements throughout the winter. The boat is set for solo sailing and benefits from many clever and well engineered systems and general improvements.
The keel is a full long design. There are two bilge plates currently fitted, these allow for berthing on drying moorings or visits to drying harbours. Both plates can be easily removed for improved performance during long open water passages or deep water berthing. There is also a set of 'legs' for drying without the plates attached.
The keel has 3.3 tonnes of encapsulated lead ballast.

Broker's Comments
Boatshed Wales are delighted to present for sale this excellent example of the Bruce Roberts Spray 33/B, constructed in steel.
Commissioned and professionally yard-built to exacting standards in 1982, Oysterman was owned for over 30 years by a former marine engineer. A keen yachtsman and dedicated Spray enthusiast, the owner maintained and upgraded the vessel meticulously throughout his tenure, resulting in a yacht of exceptional integrity and reliability.
"In the writers opinion the vessel is in very good order and has clearly been very well maintained, it is considered in very good condition with very few defects" extract from 2018 survey report.
A robust and exceptionally well-engineered vessel, Oysterman is designed for short-handed, long-distance passage making, while remaining equally well suited to coastal cruising, exploring tidal estuaries, and drying harbours. Continued high levels of care under her current ownership mean she is ready to sail, requiring only routine ongoing maintenance.
An eye-catching yacht with an impressive inventory of onboard systems and additional equipment, Oysterman represents a rare opportunity to acquire a proven, capable cruiser. Currently lying ashore for the winter, access and inspection are straightforward.
We warmly welcome and highly recommend all enquiries and viewings.
